Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us before they book — and a few things they ask afterwards. If yours is not here, text (317) 759-4500 and we will answer it.

Getting started

How do I get a quote?

Send your address, how many dogs you have, and how often you want service. That is everything we need. We come back with a flat weekly price — no site visit, no sales call, and no obligation. Most quotes go out the same day.

Do you need to see my yard first?

No. Your address tells us the lot size and we take your word on the dogs. If the yard turns out to be substantially different from what we expected, we tell you before we start rather than surprising you on the invoice.

How soon can you start?

Usually within a week. If your yard needs an initial cleanup before regular service begins, we schedule that first — in Greenwood and Perry Township that is normally a few days out, and longer at the edges of our area like Franklin, Mooresville and New Palestine.

Is there a contract?

Our service is subscription-based, but there are no contracts, no start-up fees and no cancellation fees. Need to pause service for a vacation? No problem. Need to cancel altogether? Just send us a text. Because service is prepaid monthly, if you cancel we simply complete the remaining visits in the month you have already paid for. After that, your subscription ends — no additional fees or penalties. We believe keeping your business is something we should earn with every visit. We would rather earn the next visit than lock you into twelve of them.

What if my yard has not been scooped in months?

That is normal and it is a large part of what we do. We quote a one-time initial cleanup separately, then your regular weekly or bi-weekly rate starts after that. There is no judgment attached and no cap on how bad it can be.

How the service works

Do I need to be home?

No. As long as we can reach the yard, we come through the gate, do the work, latch up behind us and text you a photo of the latched gate when it is finished. Friendly dogs are welcome to stay out; territorial or nervous dogs just need to be inside. Most of our customers are at work during their visit.

What do you do with the waste?

It leaves with us. Everything is double-bagged, loaded into the truck and disposed of off your property. Nothing goes into your trash can — which matters most in July, when a week of collected waste sitting six feet from your back door recreates the exact problem you hired us to remove.

Do you come on the same day every week?

Yes. You get a fixed day and we hold it. Consistency is the whole point of the service, and it is the main thing that separates a route that works from one that does not.

Will you let me know when you have been?

Yes, twice. We text you 20–30 minutes before we arrive so you have time to secure your dogs, and again when the yard is finished — with a photo of your gate, latched, so you can see the property was secured before we left.

What about my dogs while you are working?

Friendly dogs are welcome to stay in the yard while we work — we love having a little company! If your dog is territorial, aggressive or uncomfortable around unfamiliar people, we ask that they be secured indoors or in another area of the property during service. For everyone's safety, we also ask that dogs be kept away from gates while they are being opened or closed. We always check and securely latch every gate before leaving your property. Your pets' safety is a priority, and we treat your yard with the same care we would our own.

Do you clean your tools between yards?

Yes, tools are disinfected between every property. Fecal-borne parasites and viruses move between dogs through exactly this route, so it is a health measure rather than a courtesy.

Do you scoop the whole yard or just the lawn?

The whole property. Fence lines, along the foundation, under decks, mulch beds, behind sheds, and the corner your dog has picked that nobody ever checks. Scooping only the open lawn leaves the harborage areas untouched, which is where the pest problems start.

Weather and scheduling

Do you work in the rain?

Yes. A little rain won't stop us — we run our regular routes in normal rainy conditions, provided it is safe. Lightning, severe weather, heavy snow and ice are different: we suspend service when conditions are hazardous and reschedule as soon as it is safe. You will never be charged twice for a rescheduled visit.

Do you service through the winter?

Yes, year-round. Cold weather does not break dog waste down, it preserves it — everything left in an Indiana yard from December sits there until the March thaw and then arrives all at once. Winter service is what prevents the biggest cleanup of the year.

Can I skip a week?

Yes. Text us and we skip it, with no fee. Vacations, a week away, a stretch where the dogs were at a sitter — just let us know and we pick up the following week.

Can I switch between weekly and bi-weekly?

Any time, at no charge. Plenty of customers run bi-weekly from November through March and weekly from April through October, when Indiana heat and rain speed everything up.

Pricing

How much does dog poop removal cost?

Our weekly plans start at just $16.99 per week for properties up to 1/8 acre with 1–4 dogs, which covers many typical residential yards. Check out our Pricing page to see our standard service packages — Good Dog at $16.99, Top Dog at $21.99 and Best In Show at $27.99 — and find the plan that works best for you. Have a property larger than 1/8 acre or more than four dogs? No problem! Contact us for a customized quote based on your property and needs.

What makes the price go up or down?

Every plan covers 1–4 dogs on a lot up to 1/8 acre, so for most yards the price is simply the package you choose. Beyond that, two things move the number: a property larger than 1/8 acre, or more than four dogs (Best In Show covers extra dogs at no charge). Frequency matters too — bi-weekly and twice-weekly service are quoted on the yard.

Is there a charge to start?

No start-up fee. The only additional charge is the initial cleanup, and only if your yard has a backlog that makes the first visit a substantially bigger job than a maintenance one. We quote that before we come out.

How do I pay?

Recurring plans are prepaid monthly. One-time cleanups are paid on completion. We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express, as well as Venmo and PayPal. Property managers and HOAs can be invoiced on account, with multiple addresses consolidated onto a single bill.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We also accept Venmo and PayPal.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes. We run new-customer promotions periodically — the most recent was a first week free with a paid monthly subscription. We also offer a Senior & Accessibility Discount: special pricing on every package for seniors and individuals with disabilities or physical limitations who may need a little extra help keeping their yard clean and enjoyable.

Service area

What areas do you cover?

Southside Indianapolis and the Johnson County side: Greenwood, Center Grove, Bargersville, Whiteland, New Whiteland, Franklin and Trafalgar, plus Southport, Homecroft, Perry Township, Beech Grove, Franklin Township and Wanamaker in Marion County. Camby, Mooresville and New Palestine sit at our boundaries.

Do you serve the north side of Indianapolis?

Not yet. Right now our routes are focused on Johnson County and Southside Indianapolis, because keeping them close together is what lets us show up on the same day every week. As Paws Poo Patrol grows, our goal is to serve the greater Indianapolis area, including the Northside — and we will expand in a way that keeps that same dependable service.

I am just outside your area. Will you still come?

Ask. For a residential yard slightly outside the boundary we will give you a straight answer about whether we can hold a consistent schedule. For commercial and HOA work we will travel further, because the route economics are different.

Commercial and HOA

Do you work with HOAs and apartment communities?

Yes. We site, install and maintain pet waste stations and scour common areas on a set schedule for HOAs, condo associations, apartment communities and townhome developments across the Southside. Proposals are written to be read and approved by a board.

How many pet waste stations does a property need?

A common working ratio is one station per 30 to 50 units, or one every 300 to 400 feet along a walking route, plus extras at entrances and relief areas. Placement matters more than the ratio, so we walk the property before quoting.

Can you invoice a property management company?

Yes, on account, with multiple properties consolidated onto one invoice if that suits your process. We also provide a visit-level service record that property managers use in board packets and owner reporting.

Still have a question?

Text us. We answer between route stops.

No phone tree, no ticket number. The number goes to the people doing the yards.
